Fabulous Autumn sunshine is proving a hit for members and visitors alike at Gorleston Golf Club.

Diary Event

On Tuesday 25th September the club hosted its Seniors' Open Competition and over 80 golfers took part from clubs around the region. The results on the day were a win for Gorleston member Ed Ogles with a super 42 stableford points from Martin Scott from Rookery Park in second place with 40 points.

Wednesday 26th September saw the Ladies Section playing for their Autumn Scratch and Handicap Cups. The results were as follows: Division 1 - Gail Chapman with 74 nett, second Linda Jones with a nett 75. Division 2 - Ladies Vice Captain, Andree Bloomfield with a super nett 67 from Rosemary Woodhouse in second place with nett 75. Gail Chapman (pictured) won the Autumn Scratch Cup and Andree Bloomfield the Ladies President's Handicap Cup.

Sunday men's monthly medal and Captain's Trophy results were as follows: Division 1: first Robert Allen with an excellent 64 nett, second Conal Downing with 70 nett on countback. Division 2: first - Mike Haylett with 68 nett on countback from Stuart Pearce in second place. Division 3: first - Alan Leggett with a brilliant 61 nett from Mark Morgan second with 70 on countback. Robert Allen also won the Captain's Trophy. The Men also played for the Ken Gough Trophy which is a four ball better ball bogey competition. Dean Chilvers and Jason Baxter were 8 up and won on countback from Robert Cooper and Jack Flaxman.

The Ladies EG and Divisional Medal results were as follows: Division 1: first - Pauline Phillips with a nett 71 from Jan Parsons in second with 73 nett on countback. Division 2: first Vera Woolnough with a nett 76 from Marieta Holmes in second place with a nett 77 on countback.
