A team of Senior Men from Gorleston Golf Club this week went through to the Final of the Norfolk County Hodds Salver. Despite hugely testing windy weather conditions the team won their Semi Final match by 10 holes beating the team from Bawburgh Golf Club. Well done gentlemen and good luck in the County Final.

On Tuesday the Ladies v Senior Men competed for the One Eyed Birdie Trophy. Owing to the near gale force winds the match was limited to ten holes. As usual in this competition the match was hard fought and on this occasion the Senior Men came out on top by a narrow margin of 104 to 101. The second leg of this competition will be played in the autumn after which the aggregate winners will be presented with the Trophy.

On Wednesday, again in very strong winds, the Ladies Captain's team played their annual singles matchplay competition against the Ladies Vice Captain's team. Owing to the inclement weather conditions it was agreed to limit the match to ten holes and 17 ladies braved the weather. The Ladies Captain, Andree Bloomfield, is seen here presenting the trophy to her Ladies Vice Captain, Maureen Duckett, whose team prevailed on this occasion.

The Thursday, Midweek Stableford, results were as follows: Division 1 - first, Eddie Reid with 33 points, second Paul Platten with 31 points on countback. Division 2 - first, Andrew Podd with 30 points on countback from Stuart Pearce in second place. Division 3 - first, David Cook with 32 points from Arthur Simmonds with 31 points in second place.
