Diary Event

It was an exciting time for all Members at Gorleston Golf Cub when they returned to playing a Competition after 'lock down' on a course in super condition. However, it was particularly exciting for new Club Member, Steve Limbert. It was the Par 3 Championship and Steve, who had only been a member for four weeks, achieved a brilliant hole in one on the 11th. The 11th is always a par three and as it was played off the usual tee his name will be added to the Honours Board in due course. Many congratulations go to Steve, he has certainly made an impact already.

The results of the Par 3 Championship are as follows: first with an excellent nett 49 was Tony Cranny, second with a nett 51 was Mark Morgan on countback from Keith Newberry in third place.

The Ladies Section played a Stableford competition and the results for the single Division were: first with 41 points Jules Harboard, second with 37 points Sue Smith and in third place with 34 points on countback was Ladies Captain, Maureen Duckett.

The Midweek Stableford results were: Division 1 - first, Jack Noakes with 40 points, second Tom Naylor with 38 points. Division 2 - first, Andrew Garrod with 42 points from Steven Rainbow with 39 points on countback. Division 3 - first, Barrie Peake with 41 points and second Peter Symeou with 38 points.

On Saturday 34 men and women played in the Harvard Cup which is an annual mixed medal competition. The results were: first, Ray Pope with an excellent 66 nett, second was Tom Naylor with a nett 67 and in third place was Brendan Gough with a nett 68.
