On Wednesday the Ladies Section played for the Peggy Norton Trophy which is a stableford competition. Peggy Norton was a longstanding member of Gorleston Golf Club where she was ladies secretary for 42 years and the Trophy was donated by her widower Basil in her memory. This competition is very popular and thus very competitive and the winner was Sheila Sterry (pictured) who was thrilled to win, particularly as she 'hasn't won a trophy for ten years.'

Divisional Stableford and Peggy Norton Trophy results in full were: Division 1, first Anne Amos with 39 points, second Julie Harbord with 38 points. Division 2, first, Ladies President, Rosemary Woodhouse with 40 points, second Vera Woolnough with 38 points. Division 3, first with a super 41 points was Sheila Sterry and second was Vicki Peake with 38 points.

The golf course is in superb condition and this is reflected in many of the super scores which have won the various competitions recently.

On Tuesday the Senior Men played for the Harold Mason Cup again in stableford format with the following results. First - Andy Klein with a super 44 points, second Bob Richardson with 40 points on countback from Martin Bullen in third place.

On Sunday the Men's Section played for the Arthur Fell Cup which is a Bogey Competition. T,he results were as follows: first, Tom Naylor +3, second Leon Sears +2 on countback from Max Evans in third place.

The Men's July Monthly Medal winners were: Division 1 - first, Richard Reynolds with a nett 71, second Bill Ball with 72 nett. Division 2 - Matthew Leggett with a nett 74, second Keith Newberry with a nett 75 on countback. Division 3 - first, Tony Cranny with a nett 70, second Neil Youngs with a nett 76 on countback.

The Ladies Section have been catching up with their Trophy and Cup Competitions and other recent results are: The Millichamp Trophy a medal competition which was won by Jan Parsons with a nett 71. The Hannah Locke Spoons has trophies for each of the three divisions. It is a medal competition and the results this year were: Division 1 - first Julie Harbord with a nett 73, Division 2 - first Neilma Jary with a nett 76 and Division 3 - first Vicki Peake with a nett 73.
