Head PGA Professional - Duncan Abbott
Duncan Abbott is the PGA Head Professional at Gorleston Golf Club and has been a PGA, Level 3, Class AA, Qualified professional since 2002.
Duncan’s biggest passion is coaching. In the years of being a professional he has created a large lesson base both in Norfolk and Suffolk coaching all players of ALL abilities. As well as being a PGA level 3 qualified coach he has also attended several career development courses over the last few years, including Fitness for Golf, Nutrition for Golf, Psychology for Golf and the fantastic green reading system “Aimpoint” to further his coaching credentials.
In his previous role at Dereham GC he was a Norfolk County Academy Coach and is currently coach to 3 PGA Professionals, 2 Norfolk county players and 8 Norfolk junior county players (boys and girls) to name but a few. Duncan is also heavily involved with both the Golf Foundation, which means he does a lot of work with the local schools, and the Get into Golf Programme, which is aimed at getting new golfers in to golf.
PGA Trainee Professional - Oliver Cribb
Oli joined Duncan's team at the start of August 2015. Oli is a local lad, with the 2012 Norfolk Under 16’s Scratch and the 2013 Gorleston Junior Open Ralph Moffitt Bowl Championships among his long list of triumphs and has played most of his golf at neighbouring club Great Yarmouth & Caister.
Oli was accepted on to the PGA Foundation Degree course in September 2016 at which time his amateur career ceased along with his exact handicap of 3.7.
PRO.SHOP ASSISTANT - TOM CARDING
Tom joined Duncan’s team during the Spring of 2016 to assist in the Pro.Shop whilst Duncan is teaching or Oli is on holiday.
The 2016 Norfolk Boys Champion and a promising Category One golfer, Tom plays all his golf at his home club of Great Yarmouth & Caister when not assisting in the Gorleston Pro.Shop.
